The Lÿnch Pigs interviewed
The Lÿnch Pigs offer up a sleazie onslaught of beer soaked scum rock and roll. I had the pleasure of seeing them tear shit up opening for Antiseen last year. I finally had the opportunity to catch up with these guys again.
What is the current line up for Lÿnch Pigs?
Our current line up is Jesse Omega on vocals, Joe Demolition Lynch on guitar, Jason Micheal Lynch on drums, Mike Martinez on bass.
How did you guys originally meet?
Jason and Joe are brothers sharing the same father but different mothers. Mike Martinez came to a lot of the shows and when the band needed a bassist he was asked to join. Jesse Omega is a successful promoter out here on Long Island, he booked the Lÿnch Pigs quite a few times and when we needed a new singer he asked to join. We tried him out and it worked out great.
How did you guys come up with the name?
Two of the members last name is Lynch and we are a bunch of pigs. Once we heard it we liked it. The name can also be interpreted as hang cops.
Explain to me your song writing process. What inspires you?
Generally when we are writing a new song it starts out as just a riff. Joe will come up with a verse riff for a song and play it a practice. If everyone else likes it we begin to add to it until we have pretty much all the music done. With writing the lyrics its usually a team effort. We come up with an idea for what the song should be about and run with it. Things that inspire us range from member to member but for the most part just sex drugs and rock n roll.
Whats your favorite live venue to play?
By far our favorite venue to play is Even Flow Bar and Grill in
Bayshore, NY. The place is just all around great. The sound is always
phenomenal and the
place is always packed for shows. The owner names wing flavors after bands, there
is a Lÿnch Pigs flavor and it is delicious. Out of everywhere we've played Even Flow has treated us the best.
What's the craziest thing that's ever happened to you guys on stage or on the road?
There has been some wacky shit that has gone on. It's hard to narrow it down or at least remember all of it. We once picked up a hitchhiker on our way to Boston. It was a chick and she smelled awful. She took care of us and then we dropped her off.
